Pros

great place. academically very rigorous research agenda. good crowd. young and smart people. princeton is a good place to live and hang out. great campus, if you aren't satisfied with that stuff in your grad school.

Cons

this place can lack behind in the recent trends. also the profs are great in their field, but the system isn't designed to look after the foot soldiers (postdocs). often the postdocs will end up giving 3-4 prime years of their lives and might not lend a good opportunity afterwards. university and profs don't care much about that. if you are unsure about your post postdoc plans, you might want to think thoroughly before you want to put too much energy in your princeton postdoc. outside world values it, but its no business class ticket to a fulfilling career.

Pros

A reasonably friendly and open department. A good postdoc life, yet as this group of folks changes at a fairly high rate, it's hard to know who your peers will be until you arrive. That said, they are bound to be sharp!

Cons

It's hard to imagine a scientific department at an Ivy League without big egos walking around the halls.
