Pros

Free snacks, the company often holds little get together for their employees, its small so you at least know everyone, friendly coworkers.

Cons

Got hired as a receptionist, I interviewed for a full time Staffing Coordinator position but they instead asked me to come on for part time front desk work with eventual full time after training. Was informed by the other receptionists that I would probably be lucky to get full time as the company has figured out it's cheaper for them to instead eliminate the position and have the receptionists do all the tasks instead. Stayed on in hopes this was just rumors but never was offered the full time position again. When I asked about it they said they had decided it wasn't necessary to fill that job vacancy since their daughter (who had previously been holding that position) would be coming back from maternity leave sooner than expected but that they may have a graphic design job for me in the future. With my background being art I stayed and did graphic design work for receptionist pay for them for nearly half a year. When I'd done a large amount of work for them in the graphics field I again asked if I was ever going to get that full time. They told me no. The very next week they informed me that they didn't have enough hours for me and would be eliminating me come January. I quit that day after finding out from the other receptionists that they have done this sort of thing twice before. They use receptionists as temps to get jobs done that they don't want to pay an actual salary for and then tell them they don't have enough hours and remove them and then immediately afterwards hire someone new to replace them. Found out just two weeks after I left that they had indeed hired a replacement for me despite the hour excuse they had given me.

Pros

pay is above average, annual bonus (mainly, based on number of hours charged to government contract; i.e. mainly, based on how much $ you make proobject), 401k (company profit based) IF you stick around for 5+ years, $5k per year towards training / education after 6th month of employment, hanover area is fun (restaurants, bars, mall, casino, etc.)

Cons

unexpected & discrete layoffs, quitting because of being unhappy, 401k is vested 20% per year after 1st year, 2 weeks of vacation per year for first 5 years of employment (no negotiations), unethical decisions from management (including security within SCIFs)
