Pros

Learn many thing. Develop personal excellence. Treat integrity beyond everything. Promotion from within. Competitive place to work. Low level of office politics.

Cons

Need more "walk the talk" from senior management. Clearer individual career development plan. Higher level management keeps "broader perspective" from lower level management.

Pros

- great leadership, great bosses - early responsibilities - smart, young people surrounding you - international opportunities when you progress (almost a must, the company will force you)

Cons

- some GMs made it by luck or as beneficiaries of diversification policy more so than their merits and achievements - poor career planning (vs the old days) - constant pressure of "do more with less" - rigid, database over common sense, culture/ system discourage risk taking - sloooooooow decision procress. it's a consenus, or at best consensus among the seniors.
