Pros

Average pay at best. Work and get 50k to 80k at most. Benefits were good, but many doctors will not accept.

Cons

Endless drama, poor communication, large egos, slow thinkers, and more VPs than designers. You like Socratic questioning, pigeonholing, and little to no mentorship? This is the place. Not to mention people who think they are amazing teachers yep they are some of the worst I've ever met. One person out of 30 people leave every month. Currently a very high turnover rate and it's getting even higher. Nearly every person I respected has left. If this sounds like things you can work with, feel free to accept the position. Beware of small teams, they are echo chambers. PEC, without fail, will offer you a position. Why? They have become desperate. They add 8 new desk yet 1/2 the old ones are still empty. Also, this company has absolutely no diversity and inclusion. Before I worked here, I never cared, but after being 1 of 400, I realized that this might be indicative of a deeper issue in the company. Where did all the foreign electrical engineers go after college? Not here, thats for sure. Finally, they claim to have a flex time schedule but this is completely false as depending on your manager, you are forced into whatever they decide without caring about what you want or need. Goodness forbid if you need to take a day of. You will hear about this later. Work life balance is non existent. Your life does not matter. It doesn't matter if you spoke about this and cleared it up before accepting the offer letter, we will still challenge you about how you operate while simultaneously allowing utmost freedom to older employees. Always met with resistance, never understanding.

Diverse Clientele

Pros

A diverse mix of clients. I consult with architects, building owners, contractors and developers. Each brings a different perspective to a project and a different set of goals to each design. This provides growth opportunities on a daily basis.

Cons

Pay is adequate but not exceptional. There is an opportunity for ownership that is incredible provided you stay for an extended period of time. I don’t know of a better way to secure your financial independence.

Pros

Family atmosphere. Opportunity for licensed professionals to own stock. Good processes--though sometimes cumbersome.

Cons

Depending on the team you work with, your experience can be positive or negative. Some teams are helpful and positive. Others are not so great.
