- A place to gain experience in a residential crisis setting especially if you're new to mental health field - Learning quickly on the job (responding to crises, helping with medications, leading groups, going out into the community) - Exposure to diverse set of mental health experiences - Practice communication and boundary setting

Cons

- Low pay for amount of work done - Overwhelmed management and staff - Little professional development and on-going training opportunities - Stressful job especially if you don't have a self-care practice
