Customer Service is Sales.

Pros

Gainshare (but it’s not guaranteed). Nothing else.

Cons

Customer service is sales. Metrics are impossible to meet. Customers are some of the rudest I’ve ever come across. PTO is hardly ever approved. Back to back calls with only 5 seconds in between. Supervisors are not helpful and only reach out when they want to scold you. Tons of upselling training even though it’s a customer service position. You have to get supervisor approval to apply for other positions, and they can tell you no.

Pros

Gainshare. ETB (earned time bank). Benifits. Dress code. Raised desks.

Cons

VERY high call volume. Not alot of advancement. Metrics stink. Expectation for one person is unrealistic. Phone buttons. Don't listen when you have a change you'd like to see if you can get approved . You have to hit a certain performance level before you can get licensed (Progressive pays/reimbursement). Micromanaged BIG TIME!! Back in the day, Progressive made you feel like family. You were respected. Treated as if you weren't replacable. Now all you are to them is a number.
