Pros

Great company. Took care of their employees thru Covid. We never had to worry about being laid off. They fronted our bonuses to us instead of havingt o wait until the end of the year to help families in need -Position is salary and you can take up to 3 hrs off with out using PTO. -Independent work -

Cons

Limited opportunities to gain experience in other areas. and earn more pay. The salary takes the fight out of the dog. Very easy to get stuck and complacent. Alot of your peers perform at a sub par level and your expected to carry their weight if you are a high performer. -Company expects people to wait years and years to get into some of the most coveted positions. Such as Process departments, or Salvage department. -Only way up in claims is to supervisor which i have heard is toxic and politcal. They also handle alot of escalation calls and reps buck pass difficult customers to their supervisors. -Benefits are okay. They do match 6% to 401k. Progressive stock performs well and would be an investment for me whether or not i work there. -Main headquarters are in Cleveland OH. So if your not willing to move to Ohio then other opportunities are limited. - I have tried 3 different departments . SIU, Subrogation and Estimating. -SIU is not for everyone, Subro is for people who like to be alone in a virtual world. Estimating at progressive has set back my estimating skills. They are not focused on accuracy and you have to please your supervisor and write estimates to suit them. Which causes unnecessary escalations. -Very easy to get lost and not get any recognition in claims. -You will wasted your best years here if you are not Proactive. -Low pay and hard to earn more -Very low percentage of Blacks in upper management or at the executive level. Mainly Caucasians at the top. Hard to be inspired when you do not see anyone that looks like you.

Pros

A long time ago when you worked at Progressive, you actually felt like a person things have changed since then but I know it one point there were a lot of happy employees.

Cons

Some of the cons of working here are the work load, depending on what department urine can be unmanageable. From coming from a background of being extremely organized and very efficient. Once you have a day to fall behind, you might as well just admit defeat right away because once you fall behind, it’s impossible to get caught back up . relations being a salaried employee should have benefits they say the benefits are that you know we can leave early if our days work is caught up, which is kind of like an oxymoron because those days don’t happen for most of us. We actually end up working longer than an eight hour shift to try to keep our head above water, and then that’s still not good enough
