Pros

Nice building and many great coworkers

Cons

Terrible people with poor ethics who HR will back up. When I told my manager my pregnancy would be high risk no less then a week later I was threatened with losing my job during a one on one blaming semantics. My performance was never criticized until this point. When I informed HR they asked my manager to give written feedback and 80% if it was a fabrication. HR told me to follow this “feedback” but how do you improve on things that never happened? I was now having panic attacks and cramping while pregnant and being told by HR if I don’t come in that I would be a no show. Fighting this legally could take weeks and being made to work in a now hostile work environment at the same time was forcing hard choices I shouldn’t of even had to make. I had to take the choice for my health and be put into the position of job searching in late stages of a difficult pregnancy. This was horribly scummy of my manager and of HR for allowing this loop hole to get around discrimination.

Sorely Lacking In A Positive Work Environment....

Pros

Benefit are semi-par, large corporate office, located in area easy to reach from freeway.

Cons

The company is full of male leadership carrying borderline misogynistic overtones. Observed an accomplished woman in her own right - be belittled by a male counterpart. Another where "folks to admire" included all males - not one female was worthily, it is to be assumed. The bait and switch environment runs rampant. Hired to do certain tasks, assignments and they are changed on the instant, constantly and consistently. Pay or bonuses do NOT increase despite job responsibilities increasing 150% or more. Bonuses are laughable. Less than .01% of the revenue an employee is bringing into the organization. Increasing work loads are the norm, however, the bonus stays the same -- very low. Management generally lacks depth, are immature, full of falsehoods and expect employees "Best Friend" instead of their subordinate performing the job assigned. Employees are expected to align full board with this highly questionable environment. Lack of full compliance equals will likely result in at-will dismissal based on anything that can be made up at the drop of a hat. Winning the any costs blind any ethics, remnants of positive company culture or tenants of sound growth strategies. Reasonable logic regularly tossed side regularity. Educational degrees fail to matter, as many who are hired or promoted into management lacking a basic employee relations skill set, is painfully obvious. Employee suggestions on improving job, company, or work culture is undesired more often than not. By offering solutions to the above, likely result is the employee, becoming soon -- unemployed. Ethnic relations with certain employees are questionable at best. Advice: Look elsewhere for an decent work opportunity.

Pros

Some of the people are nice, but they aren't the people that make a difference. They use a mask of 'parties' and 'gifts' to make up for the fact that there is no lateral growth opportunities in the company. Decent health/dental plans, with pretty low co-pays.

Cons

It has become a 'boys club' in a word. You have to know some one as a friend in order to get any where. I've woked here for two years and just recently got a 50 cent raise. 401K is not very good, its basically just you putting money into a savings account, Progressive contributes very little. No other real benefits to working at this job.
