Pros

The company used to have great culture. The individual contributors and lower leadership are fantastic people.

Cons

Since the new CEO came on he replaced many of the executive leadership and layoffs of 10%, the culture has tanked. It is no longer an enjoyable place to work.

Pros

None now since new CEO

Cons

Since Gary Steele left it's been going down hill. Forced RTO even though we had a record year. Personally I'm more productive working from home, I get far more done and I know this is true for my colleagues. No data driven reason to return to office. Now we have to spend money on fuel, wear and tear on a car, losses time. I felt blessed to work from home, being back is having a dramatic impact on both work and personal life. Callous immediate layoffs. People were laid off immediately without empathy. At least give people more time, like two months or so. Heartless... The company culture has been ripped apart. Who knows what's coming in the future.

Pros

Decent solutions, enjoyed some great coworker relationships. Not me personally, but a field rep can stay at Proofpoint without selling for years. Lazy sales managers could be considered a pro if you're just looking for a place to hide without much sales pressures.

Cons

They pushed DEI so hard all my coworkers and I talked about how it feels like an attack on straight white men. Regional Managers are completely worthless and refuse to roll up their sleeves to help. Dictatorship is their management style. Managers think you work for them instead of them working for the sales reps. Sales reps are saddled with a million responsibilities, it all falls on rep even though dozens of people get paid on your deals. You have to ask people multiple times for help and many times they just don't help because everyone reports to a different manager. There's no accountability except on the rep. I've sold software for 30 years, this place is completely disfunctional. It's harder getting approvals than selling to customers. Proofpoint never ever gives sales reps raises. 401k match is an insult. They didn't pay my vested shares when I left. True. Any lost renewals counts against you on future sales in the account. Small account list, and each year you lose accounts. My list was so small I had no choice but to retire. My Sales Engineers was making more than me because his manager gave him tons of RSU's for deals I sold. That was crazy. Ultimately I got really sick of the DEI talk. Yeah I'm a straight white guy. Seemed like I was the enemy of Corp. Corp was crazy liberal. They were way way left. I had nothing in common with their political views. It was insanely painful because their views would be shared during all hands. Some of the stuff said by CEO seemed borderline, like we need to hire more black and brown leaders. Could you imagine hearing we need to hire more white leaders? It was repulsive.
