Pros

The experience is the best part of the job. Getting to work with doctors and patients all day is an amazing experience.

Cons

Training/tests were tough, but very doable if you study adequately. Also, low pay is a con. Scheduling can also be sometimes a problem.

Exposure to countless types of medical situations Constant learning opportunities, environment conducive to learning Work closely with highly qualified and experienced medical professionals

Cons

Scheduling issues: never had schedule with sufficient advance (often received schedule for the month late at night on the last day of the previous month), frequent mismanagement of employees' schedules (scheduling people for shifts they specifically requested off and/or not working around students' class schedules as explicitly promised) Complete lack of advancement opportunities Chronically unprofessional behavior from management

I was a physician's scribe at ProScribe for a little over a year and a half and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Upper management was great and made the job easy for you. Excellent training program with hands-on and classroom components.

Cons

Some of the hardware was outdated.
