Pros
Experience of working with physicians and in hospitals valuable for someone going into medical field.
Cons
Have to fight for shifts, as a new scribe you get stuck with the ones no one else wants (overnights) even if you have morning classes, poor communication with management- they take forever to answer emails and you're never told who to report to or who to ask for help, takes 2 months to get trained, pay is extremely low for the work you do, not worth the hassle. Must pay back hundreds of dollars if you quit or can't work enough shifts the first 6 months.
