Pros

Peer engineers are awesome! I was sad to see so many great engineers and awesome human beings leave due to the management.

Cons

Management is evil. One layer of sycophants after another. If you love abuse- this is the place for you!

Pros

The engineering staff is committed to working together and creating successful products. The downtown Seattle facility is nice.

Cons

Management wants to turn this into Amazon Lite. Leadership is wrapped up in their own egos, does not listen to engineers, and is not trustworthy. The "good" Glassdoor reviews, clearly written by managers as a knee-jerk response to criticism, are indicative of why the Employee Engagement Survey results were so profoundly poor. The management layer is obscenely bloated- there are nearly as many managers as non-managers.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and advice. I am sorry that we missed the mark in delivering a great work experience for you. In response to your feedback, my leadership team is taking a close look at our values against those of our parent organization, Providence St. Joseph Health, and finding opportunities to make these values actionable in our day to day work that more closely connects our employees to the Providence Mission. Thank you again for the feedback and best wishes to you in your future endeavors. - Nipun Dureja, VP Software Engineering

Pros

I have been working here as a Senior Software Developer for one and half years. These are the things I like about DIG, in order: - People. Talented bunch of folks to learn from, yet willing to listen to your ideas and brainstorm with you. Motivated and always focused on customer obsession. - Interesting problem. This is very important to me, keeps me engaged. And, cherry on the top is applying these solution to Healthcare, which badly needs some tech-love. Kudos to Providence for setting some example. - Career ladder. This was set up in the my first 3 months time at DIG and we had to do some house cleaning to get this in place. I am happy about the bold steps taken. This reflects the leadership interest in growing you. My manager regularly talks what it takes to go to next level and got me a mentor who is a principal engineer. - Leadership. This is such a key for organization's growth. They did take some bold step to do some house cleaning and establishing the right culture. When I have joined people were have a relaxed lunch when the production systems have gone down. We have come a long way to establish what it takes to be on the top of customer service. - Good benefits. Also, tries to match the numbers with these giant Seattle companies. - Last but not least, the mission. As I mentioned earlier, I am happy to see the application of technology for a bigger good of society.

Cons

DIG is like a startup within Providence, which is very young. One of the cons, I could think of, is the dev-tooling. I have worked at one of these giant tech companies in the past and comparing with them, DIG is on the right path, but has got some distance to cover to reach that maturity. Looking at the other side of the things - you get a chance to build all those amazing stuff to make dev's life easy.
