Pros

Best reasons to work at Providence is the people you work with. I have worked in different departments and units and I can't say a bad thing about any of the people I have worked with. Centrally located in Burbank, easy to get to from the freeways.

Cons

From top to bottom, management seems to be on a different mission that what they want to project. They don't take suggestions. Also, hospital security is HORRIBLE. I don't want to say much more because I currently work there. There are definitely times I have felt unsafe in situations with hostile patients or their families and I was told I was overreacting.

Pros

Providence is very mission-oriented and all decisions are viewed through a lens of being beneficial to all potential patients.

Cons

Swedish is allowed to operate with many different policies and there is little connection between the two companies, which is a big miss. Many employees have been with the organization for a long time or are very late in their careers, which leads to a disconnect with younger employees and new strategies in favor of "tried and true," but very paper-heavy, antiquated processes.

Pros

I enjoy my job, my co-works & the clinical staff I work with on projects

Cons

After moving me from the East Coast for 4 months, the department I was hired for was eliminated. The recommendation to dissolve the department came from an outside Consulting firm that has a lot to gain by offering their services. Senior Leadership did not care enough about their own employees to discuss the superior work their internal employees were performing. I feel this is a conflict of interest and should be investigated for ethnicity.
