Pros

Most staff and MDs are pleasant and helpful. CNAs are the best and I have worked with many. Pay rate is fair.

Cons

Pay raises are in 12mo. despite merit. No opportunities for extra shifts. There are some in nursing management that should work in HR and not on the floor - as they are lack in support, value, and respect to staff RNs. Prepare to stand in line with 5 other RNs to get morning meds out of one floor Pyxis. Mgmt. won't install another. Nursing mgmt. hired a fleet of new RNs that led to floor RNs being flexed or shifts canceled on a weekly basis. Such a disaster. I was told that the facility was "like a family" and I was treated like an uninvited guest by mgmt. no matter how hard I tried. I was punctual, never late, and received weekly accolades from pts. and family. If mgmt. behaved differently I would have stayed indefinitely.

Pros

Some of people are friendly. Cafeteria is open overnight. Part time availability.

Cons

Busy units with unsafe ratios and some unit practices are outdated. L&D pushes patients to postpartum without proper recovery. Have to take call and if there's low census you use your own PTO.
