Pros

Work schedule was flexible.( flex time, 4x 10 hour days). Nice clean cubicles.

Cons

Working hours flexibility eroded over the years. No follow through by HR on statements made when position was being eliminated. Hiring process is slow and applicants are not kept informed. Frequently job opportunities are advertised then cancel led with no reason.

Pros

depending on which department, there can be good work/life balance. starting salaries can be competitive. mission on paper is inspiring

Cons

moving target as to why we are here. negotiate in high, as salary increases (even during promotions) are ridiculously low and non-competitive. bureaucracy can make it very difficult to know who to ask for what. good old boys club is in formation at the top

Pros

Great clients, some great co-workers, team approach, mission driven. For salaried employees time is flexible and supervisors are very accomodating.

Cons

If you are working in a Providence facility or "ministry" as they call them, it's very hard to get promoted to the regional or corporate offices. In the facilities so many employees stay for so long---which can be good---however many of them are beyond burnt out and it seems the Providence way is that if someone is a problem in one department they just move them to another. Not much mentoring going on and not much building up of collegues.
