Pros

I receive my paycheck in a timely manner.

Cons

Corporate management is so out of touch with what is happening at each ministry. Five states each with their own laws and regs. You can't have one size fits all policy.

Pros

Great entry level experience with EPIC Nice, caring people to work with Some jobs are remote

Cons

Senior leadership bases hiring decisions on charisma and age rather than experience and merit. Low pay. They say that the benefits you receive make up for the lack of pay, but they don't. They pretend to care about diversity, equity, and inclusion, but are not willing to put their money where their mouth is. They expect POC caregivers to educate instead of finding a professional. Raises are only a few cents a year. Sometimes they will do a "market review" and you'll get a few cents more. If you're a capable employee, they will take advantage. You will end up picking up the slack for employees who don't pull their weight.

Pros

They pay well and have good insurance. The people at the individual hospitals and clinics are great.

Cons

Providence as a company is the the worst. I have worked there for over two decades. For the first 20 years it was great. Now it's a joke. No HR locally, it is based in the Philippines now. We changed over to a software program called Genesis that handles our paychecks and yearly evals and it has been a fail since day one. People weren't getting a paycheck. People had their PTO accounts cleaned out and their insurance revoked, even though they were still employed. My co-worker has been trying to get Providence to pay a vendor for MONTHS and ends up crying because she is so frustrated because of all the run-arounds. Instead of empowering caregivers at the local levels, they have become a greedy corporation that doesn't care about their employees. Several of my co-workers have quit recently and once a job that's similar to mine comes up, I'm going to apply.
