Pros

In theory they are working to improve issues. It meets basic standards and provides basic/routine support. I like the work and my coworkers.

Cons

Salary is not competitive, with minimal raises (5k increase to annual salary after 2 years experience, then 2.5k increase every 5 years). There is no current action plan for how they plan to incentivize retention of employees given there is no financial benefit for staying with the company long-term. Annual PTO time includes all holiday's and office closure days which can be misleading in how many true PTO days you have at first glance. Contracts are often left vague with verbal promises and assurances of role/expectations that are then retconned as the contract doesn't actually specify. High turnover of staff on all levels. Difficulty filling open positions. Even if we were to be staffed at all open positions (we are not) it's incredibly short staffed for the quantity of work required.

Pros

Majority of staff treat each other well. Workers do their best to keep a positive & supportive atmosphere. There's a nurse union. Most departments are managed well by people who try their best & care about workers as people. Management comes to the floor to help with patient care.

Cons

Upper administration is completely disconnected with reality at the bedside. They took all of our EIB (extended illness bank) away during this COVID pandemic & now they want to take away our ability to cash out our PTO. Since PSJH has taken over the Catholic hospital system it's become only about profit & taking from the workers while hiding behind providing services to community & saying they care for patients and using fluff words to make them seem like they aren't corrupt.

Pros

The health insurance is great and has lots of mental health benefits. Managers and up has unlimited leader time off aka unlimited PTO (within reason)

Cons

There are too many layoffs such as IT, Finance, Talent Acquisition. All of that is outsourced to India and the Philippines. When working with this organization, you will receive zero HR support.
