Pros

Excellent staff, mission spirit, supportive, family.

Cons

Too big. Corporate focused, loss of mission goals. Every "new" initiative is sighted for short term goals or rewards to C-suite. Shallow support for staff, no rounding, and no visibility, uses “us” and “them” when addressing management and staff. CEO Med staff is weak with Physicians, everything breaks down at that level because he will not hold them accountable. CNO, waste of time!

Pros

Free, convenient parking, lovely area with small town feel, took into account my schedule preferences, had enough supplies, acuity of pts fairly low (no open heart/cath lab, trauma level), pt's were overall sweet - don't act entitled, co-workers were courteous, usually helpful, seem like just good people.

Cons

MEDITECH! Physicians seem patriarchal, rude, not my favorite, floated every shift, sometimes twice a shift (floated within 2 hours of beginning shift). A large majority of my sweet patients did not speak the same language as I, which is a bit of a challenge, but they were patient with me. Really helps if you are bilingual here (would like to learn, but takes time).

Pros

Good benefits, great people, excellent patient care, community outreach and relationships. While the religious aspect can be off-putting, it's not necessary to be Catholic or even affiliated with a religion to work here. The Catholic values for the most part are a positive influence on how the organization approaches patients and the communities we serve.

Cons

Moving more toward a corporate environment and away from some of the long-standing core values and mission. Starting to put less importance on employees and more on the bottom line. Quality of patient care is still very much a top priority, but employees are not quite as high on the list as we used to be.
