Pros

Good post college opportunity, mostly good people

Cons

Outsourcing of jobs, one sided political messaging, advertisement of Christian based core values when advantageous to save money, lack of leadership in upper management, low to zero accountability, poor communication, poor attitudes, no ownership of work or outcomes, too much growth without clear direction, skeleton crews, etc...

Pros

Large organization that pays well and offers good benefits

Cons

I had a horrible experience with my direct management team. There was a period earlier this year, when they were constantly making mistakes with my schedule, causing me to miss lunches, work hours on end without breaks, and work overtime. When I would complain to my superiors, they would try to fix it, but it would happen again. Then, they started quoting me my job description, which felt condescending. I went to HR who told me that doctors and nurses burnout all time at Providence and I should just expect to work without breaks and overtime if that's what my managers were asking me to do. Front-line employees are treated as expendables because they have a large HR department that can find another poor schmuck who will be lured into working here based upon the good salary and benefits they offer. I quickly started looking for a new job.

Pros

Serves underprivileged patient populations and local communities. Charitable towards patients that dont have ability to pay. Nursing staff continues to show caring compassion towards patients regardless off the way they are treated by administrators.

Cons

Non-competitive salary compared to other local hospitals, poor benefits package, patient to medical staffing ratios are borderline dangerous leading to rapid burnout, total disconnect between administrative staff and medical staff, weak union representation for CNA, techs, and nursing staff.
