Pros

The employees in the field. The nursing home people are the cream of this pie. Out side of corporate you could not ask for better people.

Cons

The company i started with almost 7 years ago cared for it's employee's since the new CIO came in him and his hairless flying winged monkeys known as his district managers have done nothing but treat the non management as nothing but tools to be abused and spit on. Inside the main office is nothing but plastic automatons, willing to lay off 300 people just so they can booze it up at the Spring conference 1 month later at Calloway, the total bill for the shin dig was most likely atleast half a million if not more factoring how much alcohol is consumed with the open bar. Poor management of their money, poor HR, poor benefits, and poor treatment of employees lead to a work environment about as stable as a meth addict. The aforementioned layoff came without warning, no severance pay, no thank you for 7 years of service, oh and unable to touch benefits for 3 years AFTER termination. Three years ago they did away with Christmas PTO sell off. 4 weeks after they requested the paper work to be turned in and 3 weeks before Christmas. Admins at nursing homes dumped large amount of money out of their own pockets to make sure nurses had a Christmas for their kids. The sincere apology letter was sent to corporate and to the field from the owners vacation spot at Cozumel. I am sure we would have had enough cash for everyone's PTO sell off(which we used for a Christmas bonus) had they not dumped a few million into new vans for the nursing homes, as well as a few dollars into a new plane for the company 'jet' RUN FAR and FAST from this company. This company is the dregs of the IT barrel, I have had people look at my resume after leaving and apologize to me for working there. This company is a resume stain.

Pros

Therapy coworkers support each other through the difficult experience of working in this environment together.

Cons

I don't even know where to start. These are some of the most poorly run facilities I have ever encountered. Nowhere near enough nursing staff/aides working and those who are working have so many patients that it's impossible to provide high quality care. Patients do not even have water a good portion of the time when a therapist walks into the room, patients wait hours and hours to be changed. Nursing staff walking out left and right. As a therapist in a SNF the productivity standard is 85% for evaluators and 90% for assistants which is pretty standard, but in facilities that are so poorly run this is nearly impossible to meet. You will spend time off the clock daily going back many times to patient rooms to attempt to get patients to participate, and there is lots of pressure to pick up patients who are not appropriate for therapy and to see them for a particular number of minutes over a particular number of days which is related to financial reimbursement that the facility will get, regardless of if it is appropriate or if they refuse to participate, which is their right (so much for this going away because of PDPM). Admission holds left and right for various reasons that are all very concerning, which means therapy caseload is typically very low. "Full time" hours for the last 7 months have been around 25 hours, facility keeps promising that we will have more work "soon" but it is clear that this is not a promise they can keep. Very poor excuse for a facility and I would never recommend that anyone work here or put their loved one here.

Pros

Company offers a wealth of resources to stay abreast on the latest regulations. There’s a consultant for every discipline (nursing, pharmacy, dietary, environmental Serv., etc...)

Cons

Too many “chiefs”. Expectations and demands are overwhelming. There’s no work/home life balance. Company cares about the heads in the bed rather than quality of care. Extremely census driven. Select homes are posh...others they don’t put money into them. All supplies and most services (including insurance) is bought through the company and its 3x plus marked up . Corporate’s Political views are pushed upon their employees
