Pros

The only good thing about Public Storage is the 3 days a year that they willingly give for (1 day) Christmas Day, (1 day) Thanksgiving Day and (1 day) New Year's Day

Cons

The company is only worried about putting money the the owners pocket and their own. They do not care about their employees or the employees time! They hire you and lie and tell you that you can move up in the company!! (Ball faced lie) The highest you can go is a KTP and you only get $1 more an hour to have to be a babysitter! You will never be a Disrict manager or corporate because they only outsource for them! They bring in new District Managers that have never rented a unit to a customer and got all their training from a video but yet they "seem" to know how to tell you how to talk and deal with customers that you deal everyday! The Managers bend the rules and show favoritism! The managers will tell you one thing one day and then come back the next day and get onto you for doing it the way they told you and threaten to wright you up. Please do not move into the apartments on property unless you have no choice!!! They think they are doing you a favor but will have you living in unsanitary conditions! They take forever to fix anything or you have to threaten to call the code enforcement people to get anything done! The apartment that i was in on Veterans Memorial Dr had plumbing issues, roach infestation, rats in the roof and mold! The plumbing (sewage) would back up in the laundry room in the same room as the air for the apartment! So we were breathing it in throught the air vents! When it would flood it would flood the hallway and it went through the walls and went all the way into the kitchen! The roaches were not bad at first but there at the end they were so bad that they had started to crawl on us in our sleep! Most of the apartments all have the same issues! The apartments are super old and need to be completely gutted and renovated!! Oh and dont expect to get a raise or anything if you live on property! You will only get paid $10 an hour because they take the rest you make per hour for the rent! The only extra that you might be able to get it the incentive of $150 if your property can keep their numbers in the green for 30 days! It's not worth it when you get your check! I went through 3 different district managers while I was there for 3 years. Not by choice! They redirect the areas every year and when COVID happened they moved me to the property that i lived at! I was cool with that other than they took me from The Absolute Best Manager I have ever had at any job and just heard that they just fired her a few days ago! The other 2 Dm's were Pure Hell!! One was a Child and talked to people like they are dumb or "beneath" her. We had to show her how to do a rental! The other one has been with PS so long that she gets away with not following the rules or bending them to sut her! She wrights up employees that really do their job but let the slackers get away with everything. She wrote me up for my money being short $17 (only happened 1 time in 3 years of me working there) but she knowingly allowed a guy to keep working for the company even though she was sent videos of the guy taking money out of the safe and then coming back to the office at 1am in the morning and putting money back! This happened more then one time!!! She said at least he brought it back!! All the DM's or the higher ups believe she is the "Great"! If Publice what's to know why District 209 people are leaving like they are they need to talk to the people in the district and they will let them know it's the DM!! When I first started with the company I thought and told my Dm that I was going to be with the company until I retired BUT my family's health and my sanity are more important!

Pros

Work from home, you can save money and avoid traffic

Cons

They took away Christmas bonus ($$$) during covid even though they made record sales and didn't pay for a banquet room for a holiday party. They change the bonus structure to act like their care about our concerns but they manipulate it in a way that you actually make less money or the same. You are forced to work 10 hour days at the beginning and end of the month. You have to race to submit a PTO 3 months in advance and at midnight to get a fighting chance. Co Stanly receive combines from customers about propert managers not being available at the property to help with move ins.
