Basically an under paid janitor
Pros
N.O.N.E at all what so ever
Cons
Stores have been understaffed for over a year. Properties with 800 - 1200 units are single staffed constantly. Other stores only half day with one person splitting their time running between stores or stores not opened at all. The supervisor has you punch in at the 1st store then go to the 2nd store so it looks like all the stores are open. The amount of work needed to be done is never going to be completed with only one person there all day. Try putting in for PTO, HAH! You're told you need to be a team player and shorten the requested time. PTO is time that the company gives you in accordance with your length of time on the job. More time in, means more PTO. We are allowed and encouraged by Corporate to take that time off. Only to be denied or asked to shorten it because we are short staffed. Solution is HIRE PEOPLE ! Someone was not allowed time off for a family wedding and the bride and groom had family coming in from several states. They only had the day of the wedding off and had to be in the next day. Another property had to work while they had COVID!! The supervisor said we don't have enough people to cover so they had to work and just tell reservations to do the E Rental. The door signage is confusing to the customers. It says "We're Open" BUT WE AREN'T !! They want the customer to scan the QRC and do it online. We are not in the office because it's either closed or we are outside on the property washing doors and mopping hallways. The customer doesn't know if we will be back in 10 minutes or not at all. The customers would prefer to have us in the store. Not everyone does everything online and fewer people don't have a clue what a QRC is! The company would rather have us be janitors than someone taking care of the customers. Store level employees cannot plan anything outside of work because the supervisors can't get a schedule out in a timely manner. They are constantly changing peoples days off after they have had the same days off for years. Supervisors play favorites and it's very obvious. They have other employees that roll their eyes when they ask them to do something and they don't do it. The supervisor will ask someone else. They have no clue how this business works. They keep saying "Well when I was at XYZ Big box store we did this. I'm sorry, we are no longer at XYZ Big box store, this is a totally different business, Another manager reported that a sliding glass door was off track and needed repair. The supervisor told the manager that they should be able to nudge and knock the door back into place. No one is knocking any doors back into place. Not any 300lb glass door! If they did, and got hurt and or broke the door, They would have been fired. No one wants to get hurt because the supervisor thinks it can be done. They try to do repairs themselves to avoid paying vendors, only having to call a vendor because they are not a handy man and botched it up.
