Pros

Public Storage supports work/life balance. I have great benefits and don’t work nights. If you get the opportunity to take one of the company apartments, do it! You do get a small decrease in hourly pay but the value of the apartment and utilities far outweighs that. I have been incredibly impressed with the company and their response to the whole Covid 19 craziness. I was just happy to have a job that was not furloughing or laying off but then the company stepped up with childcare/elder care assistance for those who might need it as well as bonus pay. They also went a step further and compiled a list of resources that were available through other sources for parents who suddenly found themselves homeschooling. It wasn’t any thing that cost them money per se but I thought it was nice that they had someone take the time to put all the information in one place just to make life a little easier and less daunting right now.

Cons

The cons would be the same as any job where you deal with the public in a customer service capacity. Sometimes tenants want things you can’t do and somehow they blame you. The only con as far as what the company could actually change is there is no way to grow with the company past a certain point. Once you are a full property manager/key training professional, there is no where left to advance. All district managers and above are hired from outside the company

Pros

Hours are great! District manager is a pleasure to work with. A nice mix of inside and outside work.

Cons

The pay! For what is expected of you, the pay is laughable. This is not so much of an opinion as it is a fact. The bonus program in place is not exciting. There is no advancement opportunity. The job is stagnant.
