Pros

A great place to learn about the storage industry. You will learn all about the storage procedures, lien laws and gain experience regarding sizes.

Cons

Once you become a property manager, theres really no growth afterwards. The bonus incentives no longer exist and more and more is being added to your job detail...which includes tooooo many scripts and pressure to sale over priced merchandise. I worked for the company for 6 years, and I saw the company change for the worse....

Pros

It is a full-time job, so there is no lack in hours. The work is mostly independent, so one can can dictate what gets done and in which order. Most of the work is done within an office with no need for difficult labor. Things such as making calls for reservations, e-mailing the district manager, and completing as well as filing leases are all done in an office setting.

Cons

There is no opportunity for promotion from the Relief Manager/ Property Manager position. Though the company and your District Manager will encourage sales and constantly remind you of performance reviews of sales, there is no commission at all. There's is no opportunity to receive a raise either. Once you have been with the company for 6 months you receive a .50 cent raise. After that it is a plateau, and there will be no other pay raises at all. Weekends will most likely be worked as the locations are all open 7 days a week. Physical labor is required while cleaning the property, and unfortunately you may come across very many filthy things. One may have to discard old abandoned furniture, sweep pests such as bugs, and rodents, and may even have to clean feces.

Pros

Hours are great! District manager is a pleasure to work with. A nice mix of inside and outside work.

Cons

The pay! For what is expected of you, the pay is laughable. This is not so much of an opinion as it is a fact. The bonus program in place is not exciting. There is no advancement opportunity. The job is stagnant.
