Not Worth It

Pros

Banking like hours and one shift insures you have a great ability to perform life activities outside of work. If you choose, you can be lazy and the job will essentially be a cakewalk. They don't tend to fire lazy relief managers

Cons

Because they don't fire lazy relief managers, Property Managers like me feel a lot more pressure to keep up with the property. The pay is complete joke for the amount of regulations, scripts, procedures, and policies they want you to follow and excel at. The true travesty is they treat the job as if it is really a sales job but there are no monthly or quarterly bonus(s) and there is no commission. Motivation to keep working harder to make this billion dollar company more money is offset by the very low pay

Pros

Easy job. Renting spaces, cleaning, delinquency control. Day to day it's routine and easy. Good benefits and vacation time. Great schedule. Stable company, expanding.

Cons

Terrible upper management. In 8 years we went through 5 district managers. Crazy high pressure to meet goals but you get no power to work with customers or implement any new ideas to achieve the goals. Minimum wage pay if you're a property manager. I got "promoted" from a Relief manager and got money taken from me for a "free" apartment that isn't free if they took money from me to get it. The corporation never gives positive feedback. It's totally $ centered. And while most corporations are at least they attempt to make you feel like you matter. Not so at PS. There is zero room for growth, they do not promote from with in at all.

High Turnover leads to poor performance

Anonymous employee

Pros

Multiple locations that are cookie cutter, meaning you can work at many different locations that can often benefit you.

Cons

Due to the high turnover rate, the management does very little to keep employee satisfaction high.
