Pros

Pto get and you get off at 6pm that's about it

Cons

Low pay high expectations for pm and rm. This company moral is low dms are catty they have the behavior of a 16 old girl , my Dm ask me plenty of times to add merchandise to rental without customers knowing .so she can get her merchandise sales . I was also told to come to a district meeting that started 1 hour before my scheduled shift and was not paid I ask dm about it twice and she never responded . You will have to clean up poop do collection calls, sweep Long hallways in the summer, rent spaces ,clean toilets etc all for 9 an hour if you don't sale insurance or merchandise you will explain to dms every day over and over .you will also have to stalk customer for Google reviews or make them up.

Pros

It’s a great work environment and we work with people from different department who are supportive and knowledgeable in their area. You become good friends with peers with amazing sense of belonging and community. The company provides necessary tools and guidance for career growth. Salary and compensation are totally based on work and accomplishments which is great.

Cons

Sometimes overwhelming amount of work.

Pros

Apartment (but it comes at a huge price), working alone at many stores

Cons

I wish I could give negative stars. I suspect most positive reviews on here have been solicited by the company (from company employees) to improve it's image. This brings me to Google reviews. Google reviews are not a good representation of each property or manager. There is such an emphasis on Google reviews that they are faked by employees or the employee hounds customers until they write something. This goes against Google's policy but Public Storage apparently doesn't care. This is the least of the company's problems. SALES, SALES, SALES! Employees are expected to sell overpriced and typically unnecessary merchandise to customers who can barely afford the $1 promo! If you lose a sale, you are berated by your DM and most likely put on an action plan or forced to call said DM to explain why you couldn't sell merchandise to a customer who throws $23 on your counter and can't pay a penny more. The company has lost focus. We rent storage units while providing the best customer service experience possible. Yet, customers are harassed to buy merch then write a Google review WHILE STANDING IN FRONT OF THE EMPLOYEE. This is simply not good business. District Managers try to have more power than they truly do. They are merely pawns in a very bad game of "business". From my experience (and experiences I've gathered from others), DM's tend to play favorites, which decreases morale and simply divides a district. The company appears to allow this? The Compliance Hotline, in which they are reported for such behavior, doesn't do anything more than cause retaliation and give a slap on the wrist. I have never worked for a company with such unorganized and incompetent management. Lower level DMs don't really have the power but certainly act as such. Property Managers are not really managers. They have no power whatsoever. No power to call maintenance, coach relief managers, or simply waive a late fee. Property Managers are held responsible for maintenance issues but the requests must go through the DM. Good luck getting the DM to get the job done. The KTP(which is the most advanced position to hold in the field) has NO power or further input than anyone else. Finally, the pay and security. The pay is not good. The job requirements deserve more than such a minimal salary. Also, some work at locations in very bad areas. The company doesn't place any sort of emphasis on security or seem to care. The DMs have (mine, at least) made the year end bonuses personal, rather than based on actual metrics. This job is simply not worth doing unless you have no options. Avoid! The high turnover speaks for itself. And you will NEVER get weekend days off.
