Pros

Free housing and meeting some interesting customers or tnts

Cons

Omg ...they change things so much u don't know what is going on we have 11 scripts to remember...you do a lot of work and if you don't have help with the people who work at your store ....you will be so stressed and is it really worth it? PS is like a pimp they want you to push their things merch and insurance but ( and insurance is optional) u don't bonus off of that right now! Vacation time is what u work for u accumulate it by the hour u work but in my district now the sm says you can only take a seven day vacation...I used to take a month if I wanted!!! I'm quite sure if upper management went on vacation they take more than 7 days!! They take theory time on fixing problems with tnt and employees!!! I live on site I haven't had any screens since moving in in 2009 and I have a 1 year old son the regional manager has been to do apartment check three times and I yet have received the screens!!! Maybe because no bonus for her was involved! I love my co worker in my district but Ps will drain u stress u and push u away and eventually out the DOOR!

Pros

Vacation time builds quickly(good luck taking it though)

Cons

Poor traning procedures, work alone, no security systems, long hours, no support from upper management, practically impossible to take vacation days or sick days, policies and procedures change constantly without any training and at times no one in the company even knows what the new procedure is but we're required to push it on customers ( right size, right price), employees are required to sell customers insurance but customers aren't required to purchase it , property managers have no power to deal with customer issues, we must contact the district managers, who are unavailable 99% of the time, too many upper management positions all of whom do nothing productive, employees are required to memorize scripts on how to deal with customers, the scripts are non-sense and do not apply to real life situations, absolutely no room for growth in the company, $1000.00 insurance coverage for the year, so don't have a major illness or accident, employees are treated asif they are simple minded.

Pros

Great training for the Self Storage Industry, less of a "RAT RACE" when you live onsite, no supervisor hanging over your shoulder trying to micro manage you. Great bonuses IF you run a large property (more stress) AND can reach the ever changing goals that are set for you.

Cons

Pay is not in line with the amount of work and responsibility you are given. While you are allowed PTO (paid time off) there is usually not enough employees working for the company to cover you for an unscheduled day off such as you or your child getting ill, and so you are pressured to work anyway. While you are told you have benefits the package is expensive with poor coverage, a single mother would have a hard time insuring herself and her children and still have enough money for necessities.
