      Not Just Filling Space.

      Pros

      The work environment originally had an entreprenurial spirit, that changed as time moved on. The field operations was confident and provided feedback to provide you with ways to be successful with your job and its support for the field.

      Cons

      The home office was not connected to the field in many ways, this alienated the field and did not make it a collaborative environment. Many decisions were made that were not practical for good operations and execution.

      Pros

      Strong, generally well run company. Fairly safe business during economic downturns. Little debt. Has some of the smartest real estate and business minds in the industry.

      Cons

      Very little communication or respect for employees. Company doesn't get the full advantage of what employees are capable of giving. No partnership. Little respect. Rank and file have no idea of what's going on and consequently have little motivation to perform.

      Pros

      If you like a stable environment and the ability to clock out at 5pm then this is the place for you. The culture is casual and friendly.

      Cons

      The trade off for job stability is the unclear, if not nonexistent chances for advancement. For everyone but the most senior executives, there is no clear track for career growth. The same can be said for salaries, which are typically below market. For anyone who cares about career advancement, Public Storage is at best a stop-gap employment option.
