Pros

Sufficient staffing most hours of operation

Cons

Employees are paid much less than current rates in most other less expensive stores. Publix charges premium prices to customers while paying employees less than Walmart, Target, and even Aldi, among other stores. Most employees are payed well below minimum wage, and some have been working with great work ethics and dedication for them for over a decade and still don't make minimum wage. Management is spotty and shifts a lot, often leaving lower mgt positions not truly supervised. There's a pattern of the hard working underpaid long term employees taking up the slack off less capable and less caring enployees that get nearly the same pay. Many class action lawsuits against Publix for not paying fairly. A store that expects customers to pay more for their goods should pay employees better to give customers premium treatment, rather than give employees less than Walmart pay and still expect more from them.

Pros

Good pay and retirement plan, could definitely retire as a millionaire if you move into department management or higher, without any kind of higher education.

Cons

Long hours, high stress, no set schedule at all, always worked weekends, low staff with high production. Not a job for the outside of work, social person.

Not the greatest

Pros

Fair pay for the Lakeland area. From what I've heard, other areas at corporate enjoy their jobs.

Cons

Promotions will provide a decent pay increase but once you've been a Principal for a while, you will likely never get close to the top of your pay scale. The pay increases are designed to get you to the middle of the pay scale quickly. Once you reach the middle, your pay raises will barely cover annual cost of living increases.
