Pros

- Super Easy - Most of the people who get hired here are friendly - If you are a student, Publix will work with you and around your schedule - Publix has never laid off their employees - You have to really, really mess up to be fired

Cons

- Some mangers are micro-managers - If you request a day off or you take off because of illness, it sometimes feels like management punish you the next week by giving you less hours. - Some customers are not so pleasant, but thats expected in customer service jobs. - You don't have a set schedule so you're always working different days and times from week to week. - Very hard to get full-time for those who want it. - It is impossible to get a job here, unless you know someone already working at the store you want to work at.

Pros

This was, and still is my very first job. They are very flexible with scheduling around school availability. All in all, the coworkers and most of the management I've worked with have been very pleasant. It's a pretty good place to work, and very customer service oriented. Great room for promotion as well.

Cons

Customer Service Staff are required to take only several new responsibilities... without getting much, if any pay increase over being a cashier. Hours are all over the place, and certain managers can be an absolute nightmare to deal with in this particular position.

The company is family owned & prides itself on keeping strong family values. It provides proper training to ensure less turnover & safety measures are followed to prevent accidents. Publix sets a high standard of excellence to stay a cut above the competition. There are many opportunities for advancement.

Cons

You have to be flexible with hours in order to work as a team to provide the best customer service possible.
