      Good for what it is

      Pros

      Good management, positive company culture, accommodating of needed time off (part-time), good co-worker.

      Cons

      It's a grocery store. Look, Publix is good for what it is. You can only expect so much when working at a grocery store. At my store, the management was good, the store was well run, and I liked most of my co-workers. Several of the employees had come to Publix after working at Kroger and talked about how much better Publix was. The worst thing about the job is the work itself.

      Pros

      Great Customers and quality products. Provides excellent customer service.

      Cons

      Promotion is based on tenure, not performance, so upper management protected by length of time with the company, not how well they are qualified for leadership. Associates are treated like slaves, not part of a team and not allowed to give input and are made to feel despensable. Benefits are excellent if you have been there for years but not expanding or opening new stores.
