Pros

There are some people doing good work towards advancing the electric infastructure in the area

Cons

Mary and her officers have completely disregarded the feedback of their employees and imposed a 50% RTO, effective June 1. They have literally hired people as far away as Spokane to work here, and apparently now they are expecting those same people to commute to an office 50% of the time or relocate. Absolutely ridiculous and short sighted. We have all accepted lower pay and mediocre benefits in exchange for the flexibility that PSE offered, but the flexibility is going away. PSE WILL lose people from this policy, and this will set them back 1-2 years in achieving their mandated clean energy goals.

Pros

Honestly, I can't think of a single thing to recommend PSE. Your paychecks don't bounce, does that count? If you're an exempt employee, you can show up for a few minutes and then take the rest of the day off, which is nice.

Cons

Low wages. Invisible Human Resources department. Just try and find a phone number or name of a person in HR. Go ahead, I'll wait. Constant re-shuffling of mid- and upper-management. In three years, my supervisor changed four times. Condescending executives. Frequent pep rallies full of hollow promises and political side-stepping. Aggressive, negative attitudes from staff are rewarded with promotions and praise. The most unfriendly atmosphere I've ever experienced.

Pros

Pay rates are good for contract work.

Cons

Puget Sound Energy hired me as a tech writer in 2022, to write a tech manual for them. I finished in 2 months. I had been contracted for 6. Rather than pay me for the rest of the contract, they let me go at Christmas. I spent five months looking for work, found it with Google, then PSE came back and offered me a new job for more money than Google offered. I accepted, and they strung me along all summer while they negotiated my contract, never onboarded me and then collapsed the position when they went over their budgets. It cost me thousands of dollars and a job at Google. Do yourself a favor, don’t work with PSE, don’t trust them.
