Pros

Fast Paced Environment, Excellent Opportunities for Professional and Career Development

Cons

The current CEO has successfully destroyed the company once known as Pulte Homes. Once Pulte's founder retired, the current CEO implemented programs that went against everything that we had learned under Bill's leadership. He continued to destroy the Pulte Culture by merging with Centex, which was a colossal disaster in itself, and firing outstanding Pulte senior leaders with many years of successful leadership experience because they didn't necessarily agree with his new company "vision" . His coup de grâce was uprooting the corporate office from a state/region that has supported the company for over 50 years, which will result in a loss of hundreds of jobs.

Pros

Company history of 70 years in the building business.

Cons

Expectations from management are inconsistent. Turn over is extremely high due to company cult-tire Training department is as experienced as the new hires Favoritism plays a huge part in who gets promoted. Merit is second to cliques. If you leave or are terminated before your deals close you will not get commissions

Pros

Pay is competitive as well as bonus. Although, most top US companies provide some type of bonus or incentives.

Cons

Corporate HR has zero power over the "Divisions" practices and governance. From the many years with Pulte and the many division I've been involved with, the managers & division leadership were mostly white. When it comes to the typically industry down turns, there came layoffs, most of the folks that I've notice that were "laid-off" were minorities. With the exception of Corporate Atlanta office there is almost zero manager or senior managers in leadership; which can explain a lot about the companies hiring practice and culture. Furthermore, the leadership is always lacking. They always pick folks that lack empathy and compassion for people. It's always performance driven by profit. I my many years with Pulte there has been zero leaders with humility and compassion for the employees. It's because of my many years of experience that I have to give Pulte two stars and that was a stretch but I must be honest to help others avoid the mistake of giving Pulte all the years and ignoring all the issues related to hiring, terminations, HR Management, & lack of culture.
