Pros
I was a PhD graduate student in Mechanical Engineering. There are great faculty to work under, and excellent research facilities. But as always in graduate school, your particular advisor will be the difference between an enjoyable 5 years or hell.
Cons
It's graduate school; can be tough at times. Either funding shortages, equipment failure, lack of interesting classes, qualifying exams. But take it all in stride.
