Solid place (most of the year)

Pros

PwC is a place that really comes down to the teams you’re staffed on. The teams that are staffed properly could really show you how to do the work, give you a realistic time table for it, and help you grow your experience in that area of tax. There were plenty of opportunities to move to other teams as well and to look for work outside of your immediate group.

Cons

Towards the third year of my career I noticed much of our work being given to the AC teams (offshore outsourcing) to the degree that it felt like you had to scramble for additional work if it was not busy season. This led to further issues once busy season did hit, as the lack of exposure to relevant tasks left you ill-equipped to tackle some of the more difficult tasks during close or reporting periods.

Pros

Really nothing great about the place. Pay started off strong but slowly got worse as they made every excuse to not give you a raise or bonus.

Cons

Company is to focused on DEI. My last promotion class was all minority women, 1 African American male and 0 white people. Statistically impossible. Work life balance also does not exist in the remote world - I worked every night until 11-12 o'clock and if I wasn't working my work phone would be ringing off the hook to get back on my computer to work.

Pros

Lots of perks, high salary, different projects working with big names

Cons

Not having a direct supervisor who you work with daily, teams change as projects change, fast-paced which can be problematic for someone with a learning curve, a single negative feedback on your performance can end your time with the company, I also heard complaints about racism and other things. Large companies like this are only concerned with the bottom line and that's money.
