Pros

Unfortunately, the only pro I can think of is the reputation of the company (Big 4 name). Besides that, there really aren't any positives to working here and it's sad people will give up years of their life to work here hoping to climb up this imaginary career ladder to get them to a "stable" or "better" future

Cons

I absolutely was disgusted with my entire time here. I left after a year but that was already too long and regret staying for a whole year. The training did nothing to prepare you for the workload and once the audit starts, many teams don't provide adequate on the job training or have time to answer questions adequately so you're stuck trying to understand everything on your own. People are impatient, busy, arrogant, and condescending which makes for a toxic environment. Compensation was also low and there was no work-life balance. People are constantly looking for other opportunities and someone quits every week. The only reason people stay is their "hope" of a better future. I'm in a much better place now that I left and am working for a company I absolutely love and adore so to those who are scared of leaving because the Big 4 poisons your mind into thinking you're committing career suicide, that is absolutely not true.

Pros

On the business side, you'll work with extremely talented and devoted people. They are driven and focused, but also understanding and compassionate. There are always a few that take things too far, but there is a fundamental coaching mentality at PwC that aims for constant improvement. I've never worked for a company that spends as much time coaching their leaders as they do coaching their staff.

Cons

The organization that I worked under for most of my career at PwC is a complete disarray. At what's truly frightening is they they either don't realize this or don't care. You can safely ignore nearly anything you read in the press - programs like "He for She" or "Lean In". This organization is run by insecure people who are somehow allowed to do whatever they want with very little consequences. Leaders of this group are leaders in title only, they do very little leading and are quick to judge, and will not flinch to throw its staff under the bus to further their careers. These leaders will develop complex hierarchies for product / service delivery, but then at a moment's notice change them and then blame the staff when the business wants to know why everything takes so long to complete.

Pros

Some of the people are fun to work with, and you can learn some things.

Cons

This workplace is one of the most awful, toxic, environments I've encountered, and it's rife with ageism. Their motto revolves around "building relationships," essentially meaning you're expected to cozy up to countless partners just to get noticed – an impossible feat considering most are solely focused on only accepting others who can help advance their own careers. Despite being praised all year and receiving positive quarterly reviews from other managers, they blindside you during performance evaluations, making baseless accusations you've never even heard of. If everyone values your work, how does a negative review make sense? Their EOY roundtables are a joke and seem like only their "favorites" get the good ratings and recognition. It's all about popularity and playing by their rules, rules most of us aren't privy to. We're just hardworking individuals looking for recognition. Honestly, I cannot recommend this place. There are just too many toxic personalities lurking about, and it's high time they're called out.
