Pros

I was able to work remote

Cons

Lead team member was having abstractor collect incorrect data per NTDB data dictionary. Trauma abstractors do not code for billing which I explained. Committed to a set amount of hours but was expected to complete more charts then hours set. Onboarding online process took hours over several days. IT Dept was terrible and extremely hard to contact.

Q-Centrix Response

Thank you for your feedback! I joined in late June and realized that we missed a response. I’m happy to say that we have made progress since then. It’s great to hear that our work-from-home set up was a good benefit during your stay at Q-Centrix. We follow NTDB guidelines, however, we do come across situations in which clients require us to collect elements in a certain way. As a trusted partner, we abide by their requirements, as it is their protected and sensitive data. We also do our best to educate our clients about why we feel the data should be collected per NTDB, and then document that in writing. In terms of coding, you are correct – abstractors don’t code for billing – and we instruct our abstractors to never pull codes from medical records as part of our best practice. Q-Centrix cares about every employee’s experience and are currently working on continuously improving onboarding and training support. These types of reviews really help us zone in on process and experience improvement opportunities. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and we apologize for not responding in a timely manner. We wish you the best in your future endeavors. Beth Hayden Chief People Officer

Pros

Being able to bring substantiated value to our hospital partners focused on quality of care and addressing client needs who have limited nursing resources. The company is focused on developing innovative technology enabled services to improve efficiency, cost effectiveness and responsive/timely results related to quality data abstraction, surveillance and reporting/analytics. Great culture of teamwork that resonates throughout the organization. Feeling of belonging to a team despite the virtual environment. Being recognized for the effort and performance you bring to the table.

Cons

There are none...best job I've had in my 37 years of healthcare clinical documentation experience.

Q-Centrix - Love my job!

Pros

I love being able to have the flexibility to work from home, and make my own schedule. If I have no meetings, and the day is gorgeous, I can go take a walk if I want...or go shopping if I want. I have the freedom to work at my own pace and I can choose what to work on, on what day, as long as I am meeting my deadlines. At my former employer, I couldn't go to certain websites during the day on my breaks as they were "locked down". By working from home, this isn't an issue. On my breaks, I have no one monitoring my behavior. I can create a healthy lunch in my own home, hence saving me money every day by not being tempted to spend money on something I don't need nor really want. There is room for growth in this company, and I have endless possibilities with where my career path may now end up. If I want to continue in management I can, or if I want to venture into business development, I have that opportunity. As a nurse, that is very important to me.

Cons

The compensation is not what I was making at the hospital level - however, my duties are also not what they were at the hospital level. The insurance is somewhat lacking, but every year I have been with this company they have tried to tweak it to make it better. Sometimes it take multiple attempts to get a point across to upper management, but eventually, everyone comes to an understanding that is good for most parties. Upper management is willing to listen, you just have to be persistent to be heard.
