Pros

Q-nomy's unorthodox interview process ensures they hire talented individuals who can deal with whatever is thrown at them. Working with such a talented team is a pleasure, and everyone bands together to address the many crises that occur.

Cons

The upper management is often at odds with each other, which leads to a lot of missed opportunities for the company. The issues with management often lead to staff being caught in the middle of these fights and fired as a result. Many roles at the company cap at a fairly low salary, and management has a skewed view of what average compensation is for most roles.

Pros

- The staff. At every office (offices located in US and globally) every person I spoke with was willing to teach me something. Always willing to help me out. - Very understanding HR and management team. If a life issue came up they gave you the flexibility to take care of your situation. - HR and Management open to difficult conversations, such as raises and promotions. I found it easy to approach management about this topic. - The talent. A lot of people that work here are talented. If you're looking to challenge yourself and learn more this is a great career option. - The perks you get when traveling for projects. On quite a few of my trips I had a good amount of time to explore the cities. Many of the projects take place in large cities so I had the opportunity to visit places like Seattle, Chicago, NYC, Atlanta, LA, Portland, and Vancouver. Had I stayed longer I would have had to opportunity to travel to Spain. All in all I had a great time working here. No company is perfect and I have some cons listed below, but overall I would recommend working here.

Cons

- Since this is a small business there are a lot of policies and procedures that have not been established. Comp days were an issue for me. At first I was told that if I caught a late flight back after a project I could take a half/whole day the following day. One month in and I was told this is not the case and that I had to use my accrued PTO. - No option to work from home. In this day and age if your job can be done entirely remotely this should be an option. Even if for only a few days a week. Especially if the company is in the IT/Software industry. - Upper management tends to micromanage. - No Health Insurance. They give you an allowance every month to assist with insurance, but not as good as having an HMO or PPO. - No 401k and obviously no matching since there's nothing to match. - Lack of new employee training. I felt like other offices had better training opportunities than I did. There needs to be more back-end software training. - A lot of company politics in play. I left this company mainly because I thought I wasn't compensated enough for the amount of hours I put in. It's one thing to have a salaried position that pays well and you have a work life balance. It's another when you are taking support calls up until midnight and not getting paid for it because you are salaried. Some of the other reasons were that there was no health insurance or 401k offered. When you're young these things don't matter but if you have a family or want to start saving for retirement it matters. If they offered enough salary to compensate for lack of health insurance and 401k I may have stayed.

Pros

- Travel opportunities - Most team members are great

Cons

- Pay is barely equal to industry standards - Inter-departmental communication is lackluster at best - Remote offices really set the tone for policy and procedures, with politics and interpersonal relationships often getting involved - Uneven distribution of work, For example there are project managers with 17 projects, then project managers with 3 or 4 - Nonexistent procedures and policies. Everything is run ad hoc. - Software product itself is so antiquated and does not perform well. Half of the features do not work and are basically unsupportable - Projects often go through QA overseas and are never delivered on time or within spec. QA process overall is a joke - Very short training pipeline, you will be thrown directly into the fire - Misrepresented workload and expectations, often found myself doing two or three jobs full time - Sales will promise customer ANYTHING to convert to a sale. The responsibility to deliver will fall on project managers and implementations, ending in failure every time
