Bloated

Pros

Most of the people are wonderful coworkers. Benefits are good. Most of the core group of people are incredibly smart and a pleasure to work with.

Cons

Q2 is extremely bloated. Often it feels that there are more people managers than people to manage. Upper middle management fluxes are so common it has become a bit of a joke to the staff, but because of this, directions and priorities are constantly shifting. It creates utter chaos and makes planning for the future nearly impossible. To compound this issue, there is a complete lack of onboarding and structure around getting new employees functional. Unfortunately, and in part due to the constant management flux and shifting priorities, it takes at minimum six months (depending on the team it might be more) to get a new employee minimally proficient, and 99% of that is through pure trial and error. Internal documentation is mostly non existent, compounding the issue. Work life balance there did not exist. It was not uncommon to be called into "hot" issues on weekends and holidays. I understand that sometimes happens, but here, it's different, its constant. To them, your time does not matter. Q2 is hilariously serious when they say you are a fulltime employee. I cannot stress this enough, you will be called on vacation, holidays, weekends, your drive home, middle of the night. Nothing is off limits. Gossip culture is in full swing, so much so that getting viable feedback from your employees is nearly impossible because everyone is too fearful of backlash when speaking their mind. Q2 has brushed aside criticism and issues in the past by hiding behind startup culture. Burnout is systemic. In summary, if you need a place to start, Q2 will likely fill that role, but at a cost that, in my opinion at least, is too high to pay.

Pros

High desire to grow the company, good communication from exec leadership, sincere interest in maintaining culture, sincere interest in getting employee feedback on company and management performance

Cons

It's been awhile since I left the company, and I've gone back and forth over that time as to whether or not I would ever write a review. Some of the recent reviews have finally inspired me to do so. There are a lot of reviews that make reference to the company encouraging people to write positive reviews on Glassdoor - of course they do! Why wouldn't any company want to have an overall positive review on Glassdoor? So, how's that a Con? It would be if they coerced or bribed people into writing positive reviews, which I never saw happen. What IS misleading, however, is this annual Best Workplace survey. Now, the company does legitimately encourage people to complete this, because they legitimately want the feedback from the employees (see my Pro). The misleading thing about this survey is, if you see the details of who responds, the organizations that have the highest percentage of respondents are admin (HR/Recruiting, Accounting/Finance), Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Product. OF COURSE these people are high on the company, and since they represent the highest percentage of respondents, they drive the overall score up. The groups where employees are least satisfied - IT, Call Center, Implementations, Development - hardly have anyone respond. Those people are so beaten down that they don't see the point in responding to the surveys. Nothing ever changes for them. Career Opps - Only exist for the GOBs Comp & Benefits - Week PTO, No 401k match (maybe that changed) Work/Life Balance - Only if you're in one of the teams I mentioned that rates the company high in the Best Workplaces survey - everyone else's time belongs to the company Senior Management - All GOBs

Hostile IT department.

Pros

I don't work there anymore. The business as a whole is thriving.

Cons

Upper IT management treats staff like disposable cattle and that you should fear for your job every day. The current environment extremely hostile and a revolving door for staff. Bait and switch seem to be a common theme with new employees. Many new products do not go through proper QA and are tested in production. Development is constantly switching to the latest open source product and never really vetting anything for the long haul.
