      Weird place and weird vibe. Seems to constantly going through changes and adding or shedding teams/people/divisions

      Pros

      The ability of the team at QIC is first class and they excel in the alternatives space. Ownership by the Queensland government provides stability and improves the ability to attract international business -especially from SWFs

      Cons

      The company is currently going through a significant and difficult cost cutting exercise. Some of the new management team have brought new ideas and people with them. This often means those who have served the company well for many years are disregarded.

      Employees are well treated. Pay is at or above market, and the company has an intelligent and varied style of investment that covers many different asset classes. Fixed income, multi-strategy, property, infrastructure, private equity and commodities

      Cons

      Technology management is not competitive. Their focus is on simply maintaining infrastructure. To achieve benefits on paper the firm has fired the people who had the vision to create an environment that could support the future of the front office
