Massive layoffs

Pros

Decent benefits, office in SF.

Cons

Do not join Geli Qcells. This is one of the worst run organizations that I have come across in my career. The org was ruined by cut-throat consultants who became full-time employees and an ex-amazon exec. The business is not doing well and there were massive layoffs recently. Folks who have not been laid-off either quit in disgust or actively looking to get out asap. The org is plagued by cut-throat politics and silos. Korean management does not want to adapt to US culture. Its a strict top-down culture. The product sucks compared to competitors and the quality is poor. Do not join this company under any circumstances, especially if you are not Korean.

Pros

- great teammates as we struggle in the same boat

Cons

- Really TOXIC culture - they curse, yell, and disrespect you in front of everyone - Extreme overtime without overtime pay - HARD top-down Korean work culture - Very little communication - No formal training, no structure on boarding - Blame you for the things that it was not your responsibility - Being micromanaged.-- got yelled at countless times - Need to check phone 24/7 for any messages or email and NEED TO RESPONSE out of normal hour - Develop severe depression and struggle with sleep deprivation. - Ultimately, you’ll miss home and your family deeply. ................................................. - I tried to communicate with the manager about recent changes, and he replied, “I am your manager, so you have to do whatever I tell you.” - The sales team manager called me out in front of everyone on the 2nd floor, yelling and blaming me in the most passive-aggressive way.
