Management Has Lost the Plot

Pros

- Good work life balance (virtually never working >40 hours/week) - Very competitive total compensation - At the team and department level, everyone is great

Cons

- Management is focused on cutting costs and offshoring every job possible, rather than actually trying to improve the product - Communication from senior leadership is non-existant and completely out of touch with employees - Multiple rounds of layoffs affecting top performers - Most employees are checked out after the recent private equity purchase and subsequent gutting of the company - Just announced changes that would vastly reduce the number of promotions for employees, even if they are performing well

Pros

Coworkers are great to work with. Direct managers in services are wonderful. Lots of personal development opportunities, ERGs are active regularly. There is a lot of employee-driven engagement.

Cons

Leadership has been out of touch since the company went public last year, more so since the private sale this year. They make a big show of listening to employees and then claim they are making data-driven decisions without providing the data. The most recent layoffs were handled poorly from a communication standpoint despite transparency being a core value. In fact, lack of transparent communication is a huge problem. It's very clear that senior leadership no longer cares about the employees as people.

Pros

Competitive salary and looks really good on your resume.

Cons

I spent two years at Qualtrics. In that time, I had 8 managers and 8 iterations of that same team. The lack of processes, transparency, and leadership is incredibly profound for such a mature company. I have never worked at a place that felt so unwelcoming to those that weren't white, men, and LDS. The C-suite team is very talented at dodging important questions, not leading by action, and taking zero accountability. Every week and quarter, Qualtrics is somehow 'winning' best place to work for DEI or for some sort of recognition for marginalized groups, but I have never seen or felt that in the workplace.
