Pros

Great opportunities for advancement in a large company for those who are willing to work hard and "think outside the box". Areas of the company are highly entrepreneurial and encourage independent thinking and work.

Cons

Travel in certain positions can be draining, competing project priorities can be challenging. Stakeholder communication could be better.

Pros

Very Challenging projects; Happening now Team spirit- if you get into the right team Flexible work schedule; can work from anywhere. If you like to be always working- that is.

Cons

Like I said- always working; too much to do always No recognition after all you accomplish Can make double or triple the salary if you work for a consulting company for the same number of hours.

Pros

The best reasons for woking at Quest Diagnostics UK is the people. There is a friendly, collaborative atmosphere. The people are genuinely nice. There's also a big focus on development and training, with an in-house training programme on a variety of topics, like time management, supervisory skills and stuff like that. I'd say that Quest Diagnostics has big company benefits (it's a very large US organisation of about 40,000 employees, even though it's not well-known in the UK), with small company atmosphere - you're not just a number. The company benefits are excellent and include a bonus scheme which everyone gets - it's nice to be rewarded for all the hardwork you put in.

Cons

The downsides of working at Quest Diagostics is that there is tight cost control (I would guess the management would say that's a good thing!) and the time it takes to get approval for things. Quite a lot of decisions get referred up to senior management in the U.S. and it seems to take forever to make a decision. There's a lot of documentation that needs to be done to meet the requirements of our clients (pharma companies), which can also be really frustrating and time consuming. The Heston site isn't great for transport either - there's just one bus route running past.
