Pros

-EXTREMELY flexible. I can't express how flexible they are with scheduling around school, another job, as long as you give a weeks notice before they write the schedule, you're guaranteed time off. -Most of the time, you're working with fun, exciting people. -Many opportunities to move up in the company. -Rewards for being there a long time (bonuses, raises) and a great starting pay. -You get pretty much how many hours you ask for. -You definitely learn how to communicate with customers and giving exceptional customer service, which will help with future jobs.

Cons

-You have a set list of tasks (DAW: Daily assignment worksheet) that must be completed in the shift. You also have to keep the store clean which is called an upkeep. Busier stores have a harder time with completing all these things, slower stores may give you less stress but more time to kill. -If you have miserable coworkers or managers, I guarantee the shift won't go smooth. Always go into work with a smile. -If you don't like fast paced work and being able to multi task, this job is not for you. -No breaks, You don't sit down at all, shifts can be anywhere from 4-16 hours depending on how long you're scheduled or if you decide to work a double. Have comfortable shoes on!

Pros

The opportunity to move up the ladder, promotion-wise. They don't require you to have a degree to advance. Students get tuition assistance from the company. You can take "partials" or a shift that can be covered for you if you want to leave work early that day. You will quickly learn that it takes humility and a strong work ethic to succeed in this company. You get free fountain and coffee drinks.

Cons

The entry level pay for a clerk is not that great, however, with experience, you can get a promotion and make a lot more money and bonuses. Sometimes, the store is in such a rush, that we don't get much time to complete our DAW tasks and we are literally running around to get them done by the end of the shift. Also, a big con that I forgot to mention is that you don't get any breaks. Sometimes, we work a whole shift without eating anything. That also depends on how busy your store is.
