Pros

Generous salary and bonus structure for director-level positions Nice office space, free parking, reasonable commute from SF or penninsula Excellent time off packages

Cons

Not that long ago, I was confident that Quinstreet would become a serious contender in the Valley. But thought stagnation and control issues within the executive team have prevented meaningful growth and may even have sent it backwards into a strange family business. I'm very disappointed in the wasted potential. This is not a place that encourages new ideas. QS recruited heavily from prestigious universities and companies and I watched bright, highly-motivated people join the company and then leave after spinning their wheels for 9-14 months. We lose a lot of talent to startups we could have retained with more flexibility and recognition of good ideas. C-level executives reward yes-men rather than valuable employees. Quinstreet was never reluctant to do layoffs, but it seems like the the number of people forced out (or fired) has increased greatly in the past two years. These people generally identified problems within the organization and pushed for change, or their personality simply displeased a powerful person. My biggest regret is not leaving sooner.
