Nice place to work

Pros

- We get to work on a variety of interesting projects using the latest technology. - Many of the consultants here are stone-cold experts with years of experience. Unlike at some places, our senior consultants aren't kids one year out of school. - There's a culture of mutual support: Stuck on something? The team will rally to help you out, you won't get left to sink or swim on your own - Even the clients I've worked with here have been sharp, and patient, but it's possible I've just been lucky. - Pay is fair and benefits OK for such a small company. - Occasionally working from home is terrific. - Leadership is thoughtful and deliberate. My last place was plagued by a CEO with a temper who acted erratically and unpredictably. Not so here, things are calm, and it's such a nice change for me. - Management was willing to work with me around a lengthy back-packing trip

Cons

- We seem to rely on a couple of big customers; if something happens to one or more of those, I get worried for the business. - Do we get a bonus? Don't we get a bonus? How much, and what can I do to maximize it? I don't know. It's confusing. - Expectation to bill >= 40 hours requires 40+ of actual work/week to honestly bill clients - 2 weeks vacation for a 20 yr vet coming into the company was a drag.

Pros

-Work from home when not required at client site -Decent Pay -Nice Office / Fun little events - like private theater viewing for employees and family. -Direct Management over technical staff tend to also be technical, so you don't feel like you're reporting to someone who doesn't really have a clue what you do -Pretty open about company's state / profitability / etc -no micromanagement / open discussion on how things are done or should be done within a project.

Cons

-As with all consulting companies I've been with so far, focus is always the billable hour, less holiday time off, bonuses / 401k match all tied to the whim of the CEO based on his/her view of the company's success. -Although possibly changing, lack of assigned seating. First come first serve everyday. I personally find it irritating to not be able to leave my books / papers / snacks etc at work because i may not have the same seat the following day. -expensive / non satisfactory health care -received an excellent annual review w/ no negatives, got a ~2% raise -there byod (bring your own device) policy is just bad and not worth the effort

Pros

* Exposure to cutting edge technology * Positive and uplifting culture * Honesty and transparency by the leadership * Get to work with very talented and brilliant people

Cons

Benefits are a bit pricey for what you get. Might be a general reality for every company these days, though. We also seem to still have some bad blood from bad relationships with pre-Quisitive clients to work out.
