Pros

Strong mission and meaningful domain in the education space

Cons

Chaotic environment with frequent shifts in priorities Lack of clear leadership direction or long-term vision HR department lacks transparency and trustworthiness Cultural decline over time: once collaborative, now demoralizing Not employee-friendly; people are not valued or supported Minimal opportunities for career advancement or personal development No work life balance and expectation is long hours I would not recommend working here. If you're considering Quizlet, it's worth exploring more stable and people-focused organizations elsewhere.

Pros

Used to have a brand but leadership killed it

Cons

CEO (Kurt) has no idea how to lead. He provides no company direction, thinking he can hire his way out of things. But he doesn't hold anyone he hires accountable and believes lower level people are the problem. Then he lays off 50% of the company, blaming them and the board. Yet, it's his company and he never takes accountability for his failure to fix the problems. Now, he's lost both the board and the company so don't understand why he's still there. Oh, and the best idea he has is to quote Jack Dorsey and some VCs in building an AI native company.

50% layoffs but still no plans

Pros

There was a time that this company was good, years ago.

Cons

New leadership came in last year and killed the culture but didn't improve the business. Blamed it on "poor performance" of the employees. Business continued to sink with double decline on users as they didn't have a plan. Then they did a 50% layoff (June 2026), including all of the c-suite. So now there's no company, no business, and no plan.
