Pros

Unlimited PTO. Flexible working hours, depending on the team.

Cons

The epitome of a workplace that causes employee burnout. Once the former CMO left the company, the marketing team went downhill with their new "leader" who is mean-spirited and had zero marketing experience. Culture of bullying among senior leadership.

Pros

* Enables developers to produce quality code by prioritizing correctness and stability above all else. * Well documented and established development processes across the company. * Cultivates a culture of engineers who care about doing the right thing. * Lots of hard problems to solve and people who want to help you solve them.

Cons

* Qumulo C is a burden and technical debt blight upon the company. It dramatically increases code obfuscation, breaks typical compiling and linting tools, and incurs an enormous onboarding cost in order to provide features which come for free in C++ or almost any other OOP compiled language. * Process can get in the way. Working with version control is painful at times. Development is done in patch stacks on top of Mercurial with a single massive, fragile monorepo automation arm. * Essentially no documentation for most systems in code or in confluence. Most learning is done by word of mouth or out of date video recordings of word of mouth. * Product vision is lacking. The company's name invokes clouds themselves but the cloud offering is nascent and underperforming due to inefficient use of existing cloud storage data redundancy.

Great product, mediocre sales teams

Pros

The quality from the product, support and engineering teams behind the scenes are phenomenal. Customer experience is among the best I've seen in my career. Fortunately, the product is so good, once customers see it, they love it.

Cons

The sales leadership is a mess at Qumulo, and has resulted in a lot of mediocre sales people that expect everything to be handed to them. The constant change in exec leadership has left field sales unchecked. The new sales leadership has come in trying to implement a large organization comp plan and process, but has done a poor job executing and communicating why. Expect 20% of your week to be consumed with redundant, no agenda internal meetings. The company as a whole seems more concerned with addressing individual social justice issues than actually working to grow the company.
