Pros

Decent LTL service with good on time performance and low claims ratio. Decent benefits. There are good people working there at the director level and lower.

Cons

Notice to current employees: R+L Carrier or R+L Global Logistics will not pay out a 2 weeks notice. Most of the time you will be walked out the day you give notice (both sales and operations). This has been confirmed by HR (after leaving) and by multiple employees that have left. Make sure your new employer will let you start work immediately unless you want unpaid time off between jobs. Pay is not competitive and ownership does not value salespeople. Their R+L Global Logistics division recently laid off 75% of its sales force only keeping the top few performers. I believe most of them have quit. Leadership/Ownership has no idea how to run a freight forwarder. Ops VP's have left as well as many Director level ops people.

Pros

They'll give you a chance to learn and work as much as you want as long as you don't ask for much of anything in return. The 'Career Opportunities' are more along the lines of gain the knowledge and experience to add to your own value and enable you to move onto a job and get what you are worth.

Cons

Quality and productivity does not pay off. Those who realize it, either move on to get what they are worth or give the company what they pay for. Morale in the work environment is poor.
