Pros

The company is modestly well known in its field.

Cons

The benefits are disappointing and the insurance is outrageously expensive. The on site H.R. is useless. I actually had to mail in my own tax form. H.R. said they couldn't help me with that and all other H.R. functions are handled by a 3rd party company. You can spend hours trapped in the H.R. voicemail jail and accomplished a fraction of what should be a 5 minute conversation with an H.R. professional. The majority of manufacturing for the (for the Topps Division) is done in Mexico. The facilities are staffed with incompetent management and there is almost no accountability. I found dealing with the on site management in Mexico to be an exercise in frustration. Lastly, there is virtually no guidance from senior management. When there is guidance, it is usually contradictory or vague.

Pros

The big company gives potential for advancement and finding a field of interest (not in this economy though)

Cons

The big company structure means you really do get lost in the big maze of the company. In many aspects, Senior Management really look after themselves (despite the appearance they choose to give) while downsizing the lower level workers to 'reduce costs' which puts immense pressure on the lower level workers who are now doing the jobs of several people for the same lower wage.

Pros

It's a job. They do offer a severance package which you might need.

Cons

Pay and benefits are on a downward spiral and have been for years. Very stressful. You only get 37.5 or 34.5 hours of pay per week unless you work overtime. The slack season keeps growing and you may be forced to take days off. Different employees have different unwritten rules. No rewards for a good job, no merit pay. The placed is managed like they don't expect it to be around for very many years to come. The closer you get to retirement the more you are concerned with the "work force reductions" When 45 year employee's are met at the door and told they have been cut, and loose benefits.
